Will you be able to trade Pokemon from GBA pokemon games to the new Pokemon Platinum?

Ok so i have one Nintendo DS Lite...I just have one Pokemon game which is Fire Red. I was thinking of buying Pokemon Platinum and trading with Fire Red using one Gameboy only. By this I mean connecting the Platinum in one slot and the other in the second slot. Is that Possible? If so how? Thank YOU.Will you be able to trade Pokemon from GBA pokemon games to the new Pokemon Platinum?
Through the use of the Pal Park in Platinum, the Pokemon in your GBA party will be transferred. You will have to catch them in the Pal Park, but it is always a guaranteed catch. Hope this helps!
Sort of, but its not quite a trade. First off, make sure you beat platinum to unlock Pal Park. Then, choose 6 Pokemon in your computer boxes from your GBA game via the "Migrate from Fire Red" option in the main menu of Platinum (name will change based on the GBA game inserted), and they will be transferred from Fire Red onto Platinum via migration. However, be sure you want to do this, since the pokemon cannot go back once on Platinum and it saves both games at the same time to prevent would-be duplicators from sending multiple legendaries over.

Pretty much, if you don't have at least 6 pokemon in your Fire Red computer boxes or did not beat platinum/ get national dex on platinum, you won't be able to use migration/Pal Park. Will you be able to trade Pokemon from GBA pokemon games to the new Pokemon Platinum?
At other contributors have mentioned (and explained) yes, you can. If Fire Red is inserted into the GBA slot when Platinum is started (after Pal Park is opened in the Platinum) you can transfer Pokemon from Kanto to Sinnoh. However, be careful as this is a ONE WAY "trade". Pokemon cannot return to your Fire Red version and Pokemon with HM moves cannot be transferred: you will have to delete the HM before you make the transfer.

And fyi... Platinum isn't very new. Will you be able to trade Pokemon from GBA pokemon games to the new Pokemon Platinum?
In a way I guess, There is this thing called migrating which you can do once you defeat the elite 4. After you beat the elite 4, go to the Pal Park, located south of sangem town via surf, and insert a GBA game into slot 2 (you need a ds lite for this). Save and turn your game off. When you turn it on again, there should be a option that says migrate from (insert gba game name here). If you use this option, you'll be able to choose 6 pokemon in your box and transfer them to platinum. however they can never return. After you migrate go into pal park and participate in the catching show. a park ball is like a master ball so you son't have to worry about the pokemon breaking out. Once you capture all 6 pokemon they will be transferred to your box! you can only migrate every 24 hours however and if you try to mess with the ds clock it will start the timer over so be careful.
Sort of, although you need to have completed both games first(not pokedex, just story) with Fire-Red in the GBA slot in DS Lite, go to Pal Park on Platinum, Then you'll need to select 6 pokemon you want to send to Platinum. When selected you will be transported to the actual park to find the pokemon and you'll need to catch them, but don't worry because it is a 100% catch rate.

Note that you can only send pokemon from Fire-Red/any other GBA game to Platinum/any other Ds game and not vice versa, so it's not an actual trade.

Hope I helped =D
h yeah my bro has both those games. so get to fusha city in fire red and then save and turn off ur ds. turn it on again and go platinum. say "migrate from firered. " then choose ur 6 pokemon. then go to pal park and catch them. you cant keep them unless you get all 6. then save and do it the next day. you can only do it once each day. hope this helps.
yes you can
Yes you can send your "Pok茅mon" from any of the main series GBA games (Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen or Emerald) over to your "Platinum" game however it's not a trade. You're actually transferring or "migrating" your Pok茅mon over. Here are the steps in order to do it.

1. You have to see all Pok茅mon in the Sinnoh Dex in "Platinum."

In regards to beating the Elite 4 and the Champion in the GBA games, I'm actually not aware of that being a requirement. It could be a game-by-game case but I'm actually not aware of it. What is required however is that you must have at least 7 Pok茅mon with you in your GBA game and you must have 6 Pok茅mon in your PC.

2. Insert the GBA game into the 2nd slot. Insert DS game into DS slot.

3. Start your DS and start the game. When you get the menu where it says "Continue, New Game, etc." you should see an option that says "Migrate from (GBA game)" (GBA game is where the name of the GBA game will be) Select that and you'll be taken into the GBA game's PC.

4. Select any 6 Pok茅mon you want to migrate but remember that they cannot be holding mail or know any HM moves. If you need to delete HM moves, the Move Deleter in FireRed/LeafGreen is in Fuchsia City near the Pok茅mon Center and the one in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald is in Lilycove City.

You'll be prompted a few times to confirm that you're sure about these Pok茅mon being migrated because once they're migrated, they cannot go back to the GBA games.

5. Once they've been migrated, go into your DS game and head to Pal Park. Just head to Sandgem Town and Surf on the water route there and head east and you'll eventually see a building there. Go into the building and talk to the guy at the counter. He'll give you Park Balls for the game and you now can go in.

7. You now have to find your 6 Pok茅mon. Once you do, just throw the Park Ball and it's yours. Park Balls are an automatic success rate however once you've recaptured a Pok茅mon, the Park Ball will disappear. If you migrate a Pok茅mon over that is a Water, Ice or Dragon-type then make sure you have a Pok茅mon with Surf with you before you go into the Pal Park game.

You also need to bring a Pok茅mon with Surf with you into Pal Park if you're migrating Masquerain, Azurill, Shuckle, Lileep, Cradily, Anorith and Armaldo.

8. Once you've recaptured all 6 Pok茅mon, you'll be kicked out of Pal Park. Once your game in Pal Park is over, you will not be allowed to migrate again until 24 hours is up.

9. Pok茅mon keep everything that they originally had. Shininess. Attacks. Levels. Everything. The only thing that they won't keep is the "Fateful Encounter Flag" if a Pok茅mon is an "Event Pok茅mon" and is supposed to have it. Now it was revealed that the "Fateful Encounter Flag" is kept in "Pok茅mon Black" and "Pok茅mon White" regardless of where the Pok茅mon came from so it's likely that while the Event Pok茅mon still have it in "Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver" for the ones that are migrated, it's likely that the flag is just "disabled" for migrated ones in Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver.
