How do I get my old Pokemon games working again?

I have Pokemon Gold Version and two copies of SIlver, they don't save properly. If i start a new game and save, it will save, but as soon as I take the cartridge out of the gameboy, the save file gets erased. And I can't just leave the pack in the gameboy either, because it will eventually be erase too. SO is there anything I can do to fix this, or is it irreversible? How do I get my old Pokemon games working again?
It is reversable and its just because ur internal battery has died. Your game has an in game clock which keeps time in it and the date to the exact day and you need to get a new internal battery. u can buy one off of ebay or you can have someone fix it for you.
This has happened to me as well, this is irreversable unfortunately, so the only thing you can do now is replace the console or the memory stickHow do I get my old Pokemon games working again?
I had that same problem with My Gold version, I would just send it to Gamestop and lie and say you came in and bought that game and that it doesn't save, and ask if you can trade it for another one.

Try an emulator, they save perfectly and you can play on your PC which is fun!

Go to emulatorzone.com and download whatever system you want. Then download A pokemon Silver Rom. (Just google it)

Load it up and play!
i have the same prob with my old chrystal version which sucks...it could just be getting old...tell me if you find a solution though..
Send it to a specialist this happened to my son's and I tried everything too.
