In Pokemon games, why do some wild pokemon appear more than others?

As a Pokemon fan I try to be tolerant of it, but sometimes it gets annoying when I'm looking for a Tangela in the Great Marsh, yet almost always find Quagsire, Wooper, %26amp; Bibarrel. Maybe they did this to make the game more challenging, but who wants to see the same few pokemon all the time?In Pokemon games, why do some wild pokemon appear more than others?
Pokemon like zubat, bibarel geodude appear more because if u noticed every generation has its first crappy normal types like rattata, ratacate, watchog patrat zigzagoon ect makes it harder to catch more rare pokemon. There rarebecause there are less of themIn Pokemon games, why do some wild pokemon appear more than others?
It makes the pokemon more or less rare, by the percentage on finding them.

you can go on Bulbapedia:

Bulbapedia can tell you the percentage on finding a pokemon in a certain route, whether it's easier to find at day or night, at which seasons it's easier(in B/W only), at which levels you can find them, whether you get them in grass patches or not, or in what versions on games you get them in.
