In Pokemon games, how come you don't get to fight Pokemon with your bare hands when your Pokemon are defeated?

I mean because if it was in real life you don't just teleport to the Pokecenter when your Pokemon are down. The game should give you a chance to fight the Pokemon yourself.In Pokemon games, how come you don't get to fight Pokemon with your bare hands when your Pokemon are defeated?
think about it a human wouldnt have a chance against a pokemon. for example if you wanted to fight a charmander with your bare hands youd be fried.
