Whats the point of having two Pokemon games released together?

With the release of Black %26amp; White on the way I started wondering why? I know some Pokemon are exclusive to the game but why can't they just put them all into one game?Whats the point of having two Pokemon games released together?
They make more money from people who are particularly indecisive, and it fosters trading of version-specific Pokemon. That is why each generation of games usually dies out with a "combination" game, like Crystal, Emerald, or Platinum, because they tend to break the version differences and mesh everything into one package to scoop up anyone who hasn't bought the two previous games.

Plus, the game with the better "headline" legendary Pokemon almost always has worse version-specific Pokemon, while the game with the less cool-looking legendary always has the all-around better wild Pokemon.

Really, the only coding differences between the two versions are some enemy encounters and Pokemon encounters, which compared to the rest of the production time is nothing at all. So they're making tons of extra money for very little time and effort.
All the games are released in pairs with a third after wards. Example - Red and Blue were followed by Yellow, Gold and Silver were followed by Crystal, and Ruby and Sapphire were followed by Emerald. They sell them in pairs so that if you want all the pokemon you have to buy both and then the third one for rare pokemon not in the either of the other to. It is just a marketing ploy.Whats the point of having two Pokemon games released together?
Well, the original concept of the game was the possibility of trading Pok茅mon between two gameboys or DS. Obviously, it wouldn't be funny if you can catch every single pok茅mon in your own game. The solution for this problem was the release of two different version for each generation. Today, we have the GBA function in the DS, and the WFC trade, so this concept doesn't work very well anymore. So, in my opinion, they do this now only because of money (some people buy not one, but the TWO versions).

Sorry, if I committed grammar mistakes - I'm from Brazil and I don't speak english very well.Whats the point of having two Pokemon games released together?
The main reason (other than money-related reasons) for why the companies release 2 versions like Ruby and Sapphire or HeartGold and SoulSilver or like in your question, Black and White are to promote trading with people. If you have every Pok茅mon available in 1 game then there's no point in trading with anyone except for things like Shiny Pok茅mon and possibly in order to get foreign Pok茅mon.
They will make more money with the games separated. There will probably be a third version to them about a year after their release containing most of the missing pokemon, but not some of the rarer ones in the other two. It seems like it's a pattern in Pok茅mon games...
More money and each games has Pokemon that the other game don't. Example: Black has (pokemon 1) while White doesn't have (pokemon 1) but has (pokemon 2) and Black doesn't have (pokemon 2).
They do it for profits. But, they also do it to encourage people to play the games with their friends, trade, and potentially get more games later on.
its so some people buy the entire second game just to get the one legendary pokemon that the end of that game. like do you want lugia or ho oh? uhm both so i guess ill just spend another 30 dollars.
