What pokemon games work on an original gameboy?

My cousin just gave me a gameboy. It's one of the original black and white graphics. I was wondering which versions of pokemon work on it? (I was a little young to make the whole pokemon nintendo craze in the earlier versions, so when it comes to the older models I'm clueless.) Help would be greatly appreciated! Also, if you know of any other games for this model other than pokemon, let me know, cause all I currently have is tetris.|||These are on Original Gameboy Colour:

If you happen to have a Game Boy Color, you could play Red and Blue in Ugly Colors,


and Yellow, Gold and Silver in normal colors.


On a Game Boy Color you could also play Crystal, which is Game Boy Color Exclusive.|||Pokemon - White Version is absolutely amazing. The graphics are by far the best in the series there are now over 640 different pokemon. Also it is placed in more of a big city environment instead of forest. The pokemon are not as memorable but the new changes with the C-gear (which allows for easy access to online play) as well as no evolutions of older pokemon makes everything seem new and different. All I can say is well done gamefreak and Nintendo for making such a great game!|||Red, Blue, and Yellow. Other people here are saying Gold and Silver work, but they don't. They have similar looking cartridges, but not identical. You cannot actually insert a Gameboy Color game into the original Gameboy. If you have a Gameboy Color though, then you may play all 5 games.





Good luck finding Red, Blue, or Yellow for cheap though. I've seen them for sale anywhere between $150 and $300|||Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, Pokemon Yellow, Pokemon Silver and Pokemon Gold. Oh, and Green too.





Some other fun games for GameBoy are Mario Kart, Golden Sun and Zelda: Links Awakening.|||Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver and gold.
